The title "Baroque Italiano" is a tribute to our guest artists from Italy, although the program consists entirely of the great Johann Sebastian Bach. Just when you think you have heard it all, Enrico Baiano brings incredible virtuosity in Brandenburg No. 5, and the trio of flutist Roberto Maggio and violinist Susan Jensen never sounded better in its intimate second movement. Early arrival is highly suggested for this ever popular evening! http://www.columbiatribune.com/calendar/best_bets/baroque-italiano/event_b6f7d748-9584-11e3-8395-001a4bcf6878.html

Too cold to pick up your Sunday paper outside? Check out Columbia Daily Tribune online! "Kids at Heart" is featured in the paper today - what an appropriately fine way to remember the fun concert! Flutist Kristine Poulsen, cellist Matthew Pierce and I had an AMAZING fun in "Odyssey Outreach," this time for kids at Child Development Center at First Baptist Church on January 22, Wednesday at 12:15pm. In a 30+ min. live performance of selected pieces from Saint-Saens ever popular work, we successfully entertained approx. 40 children of ages 3-5 with corresponding projected images and age-appropriate discussions about music - such as, why the composer did not assign flute as the designated instrument for an elephant, and why this particular elephant in the carnival wanted to dance. (!) What an AMAZING experience this was for both the audience and performers alike! We had more than 400+ in the audience at this FREE concert preceded by Instrumental Petting Zoo, and all the performers played so beautifully. More pictures are posted on our Facebook page; CLICK HERE or click on the picture. ENJOY! Thank you very much for YEARS of support! This season has been especially meaningful to us because this is our 10th anniversary. That said, each year is unique at Odyssey, and we do love all the programs and musicians we have had the privilege of hosting! This has all been possible with your support, and we are extremely grateful. Wishing you, your families and friends an excellent new year, filled with happiness and good health! Have you signed up for Odyssey page on Facebook? We are about to hold a raffle for a pair of free tickets to either Baorque Italiano or Makrokosmos, and we would LOVE to include your name! The drawing will take place on January 1, 2014. CLICK HERE to sign up! Happy New Year, everyone! Looking forward to seeing you on January 18, if not sooner!
