SONGS OF HOMELAND is a program inspired by nostalgia of home, whatever, whomever, or wherever that may be. Soprano Carline Waugh and pianist Ayako Tsuruta leads the evening with selections from "Twelve African Songs," work of Fred Onovwerosuoke, composer from Ghana born to Nigerian parents; his trio for flute, viola, and piano; in addition to Margaret Bonds' powerful "Seasons." Flutist Wendy Hymes and pianist Peter Miyamoto will also join the stage.
