We have been happily busy practicing and performing, we neglected posting on our Blog. Time flies, and here we are, December 2025, with our third Candlelight Holiday concert this Friday at 7pm, First Baptist Church in downtown Columbia, Missouri.
This program is particularly special, welcoming our local superstar couple, internationally renowned harpist Maria Duhova Trevor and her husband Kirk Trevor, internationally known conductor - but on this occasion, he will be playing cello as her duet partner. Another couple, pianists Peter Miyamoto and Ayako Tsuruta, will follow with Rachmaninoff's "Six Pieces," Op. 11 for a piano duet. While the origin of the work was undoubtedly inspired by the loss of his mentor Tchaikovsky, the set of nostalgic six pieces also include reminiscences of good times (Scherzo, Waltz), as well as an ultimate dedication, with resounding Slava (Glory). After the intermission, organ/piano duo will entertain you with Lo, How a Rose (I am more familiar with Sting's "Winter" album), and "A Merry Tango," arranged by Joel Raney, featuring organist Colleen Ostercamp and pianist Ayako Tsuruta. The festive concert will conclude with an exciting 8 hand-arrangement of Christmas tunes, "Christmas Fantasy" by Joo-Hye Lee, which includes all the familiar holiday tunes you will recognize instantly. Come earlier, because beginning 6pm, Board President Colleen Ostercamp is serving *FREE* hot chocolate until 6:45pm! Bring some change to enter the Holiday Basket Raffle, and buy concession for some sweets and more hot drinks during the intermission. See you soon, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
